The Cold War

After the end of the end of World War Two, the victors [winners] were divided into two camps [two competing sides]: the U.S. [United States] and its supporters, and the U.S.S.R. [Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or Soviet Union] and its supporters. Define the Cold War [give the definition of this era of modern world history in one to two sentences]. Then discuss its effects in two of the three geographic world regions: Europe, Asia, Latin America. [Once you do that] Identify [show], describe [explain with examples] and explain the relationship both of the two distinctive [different] world regions of your choice [as listed above]. How and why did the Cold War end? What legacy [what did the Cold War leave behind to the future generations] and continued conflicts [military, etc.] stem [picked up where it left off, or grew] from the Cold War? In your answer be sure to mention specific events and policies [events and policies of the U.S. and Soviet Union and their supporters during the Cold War and after].

Also, be sure to include the names of national leaders in the U.S., Soviet Union and key leaders in the two regions you discuss.
