You are teaching in an inner city classroom and you have 25 students. 18 Latino students, 5 African-Americans and 2 Vietnamese. The students were all born here but their parents were not and have very limited English. Some parents can not read in any language. Others have limited reading skills. Therefore, very few of the students have an interest in reading.
