This week, you learned to distinguish sex and gender, and to identify patterns of gender communication. In addition, you were presented with several theoretical perspectives on love and attraction. Your task for this assessment is to review various forms of media and note consistencies and inconsistencies in gender communication, love and attraction as presented in this unit. That is, you will:

Choose at least two examples of gender communication as presented through film, TV, articles or social media and:
analyze the content from the perspective of any two theories of gender described in the unit (hint: the Crash Course video in the gender unit may be particularly helpful) and compare and contrast your two sources. For example, are the theories reinforced or rejected through your chosen media? Be specific, and offer concrete examples connecting your examples to the text or other course resources.
Choose at least two examples of love and attraction as presented through film, TV, articles or social media and:
analyze the content of your source through the perspective of any two theories of love and attraction presented in this unit, and compare and contrast your two sources. What evidence is presented in your sources to support or refute the theories presented? Be specific, and offer concrete examples connecting your examples to the text or other course resources.
This assignment should be completed in essay form and submitted through the appropriate link on the D2L course. Be sure to attach/link all sources cited. Refer to the attached rubric for grading parameters.
