: Students are expected to develop an interesting and appropriate research proposal. This will include identifying questions/hypotheses, selecting and critically describing an appropriate research design (quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods for collecting and analysing data).
In particular students need to:
Identify the research subject area and clearly describe the research question(s);
Provide a short review of the literature which demonstrates clearly the key debates;
Clearly describe the hypotheses or expectations coherently with the research questions and literature review;
Indicate how the research question(s) will be answered. Specifically clearly describe which methods/techniques will be used. Also clearly discuss with the support of Business Research Methods textbooks why the selected method(s) is considered to be appropriate and valid to address the research questions;
Using Business Research Methods textbooks discuss the sampling, the way data will be collected and analysed;
Critically analyse the choices made and how these will help answering the research questions.
Provide a timescale for the conducting of the research, including literature review, methodological design, conducting field study and write up.
