Overview
Using primary, scholarly and secondary sources, you will write an evidence-based biography of a little-known (or even unknown) Civil War figure during one month of the Civil War. You will choose a person who represents a major group during a certain time or location during the Civil War. Your job, as a historian, is to create a narrative about this person’s life during the given time period and location.
Objectives
Although you may not be able to find sources devoted solely to your figure, you will synthesize information gleaned from books and historical documents to create a historical argument about how this person must have lived and what they would have experienced during the time period given their background, location, identity and circumstances.
