Write a 10-12-page double-spaced paper analyzing your organization. The essay should include the following:
Describe the formal structure of your organization. Examine the extent of specialization, formalization, and centralization. For example, you may address some of the following aspects: What is the organizational structure? (at least 2 pages)
Identify and discuss the organizations culture (jargon, rituals, distinguishing characteristics)? (at least 2 pages)
Discuss organizational leadership. For example, who are the leaders – authority figures? What is the decision-making process? Has there ever been a power-struggle in your organization? Has it been considered to be a good employer to work for? (at least 2 pages)
What are the most critical elements of its environment? (at least 2 pages)
As CEO, if you could change three things about the organization, what might they be and why? (at least 2 pages)
Be sure to apply at least 6 social concepts and 2 social theories.
Optional: If you are able to get in touch with a member of the company you are studying, you may conduct a brief informal interview with him or her. In the interview, ask about problems or issues facing the organization and any information that you have already learned in researching this organization. Keep in mind that a CEO, director, or president of an organization will likely identify problems that are different from entry-level employees.
Students are required to include at least 8 peer-reviewed journal articles no more than five years old, in addition to the textbook as sources.
APA Style Formatting: the submission should include a cover page, running header and subheadings to identify each section, i.e., Formal Structure, Culture, and so forth. It should be typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12-point font, the 1-inch margin on each side. The title/cover and reference pages do not count toward the 10-12-page requirement.
This is a formal writing assignment and you are expected to pay attention to overall format, style, grammar, punctuation and spelling, and use citations when you reference sources in the APA Citation Style Format. Please start with an introduction that includes a thesis statement and end with a closing, summary OR conclusion.
