Your essay could have a mix of exploration and argument yes, push back on what you
disagree with or have seen fail! It is your chance to add your own thoughts and analysis
based on your experiences. Your essay should NOT be a summary of the book
chapters I already know what is in each chapter, what I dont know are your thoughts
about the concepts. Write your personal reflection about how these concepts impacted
you. Your reflections are not limited to book content; you can also include additional
resources that you encounter in the weekly folders or that surface in class discussions.
Paper requirements: Single-spaced, 12-point font, paragraphs that follow the format of
1) topic sentence 2) supporting arguments, 3) conclusion sentence. Use a new
paragraph for each topic you address. Use short paragraphs that are succinct. (Even a
short paragraph has minimum of five sentences.)
Fit each chapter reflection on one page exactly. This means you have to choose the
most impactful topics, not every topic in the chapter. Use bullet points and tables as
appropriate, but without teaching me the topic. Rehashing the chapters is considered
filler and will count against your grade. This assignment is reflection and application
specific to you.
