Carefully examine the dimensions, and list as many related things about your lifestyle as you can for each one. For example, under spiritual health, where it discusses an individuals need to search for meaning and purpose in life, you might ask yourself a question such as “What activities do I engage in to find my purpose?” For occupational health, you might explore the things you do to achieve a work/life balance.

Once you’ve done that, take the time to thoroughly analyze your lifestyle. The more details you can uncover now, the easier itll be to complete the wheel of life assignment. Indicate on the wheel where you currently fall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 low, 10 high). Connect the dots – don’t worry if the wheel you’ve created wouldn’t roll! It’s most common for this activity to result in the creation of something that looks more like a star than a wheel. Finally, go back over the wheel and mark where you would eventually like to fall in each dimension. This is a goal – would you like to give more time and energy to your physical dimension? Maybe you’d like to pull back on the amount of time you provide to your intellectual wellness.

Remember: you only have 24 hours in a day and a finite amount of energy. You cannot give 10/10 to all areas, therefore, areas that currently receive a great deal of attention may need to be scaled back so that you can give more to dimensions in need. This isn’t about achieving perfection, rather it’s about achieving balance!
