The paper you write will be a comprehensive summary and evaluation of the article. Start your essay with your name at the top of the page. Beneath that, put the full citation for the article in Chicago (Turabian) style. You should find a link on the page with your article for the citation. Just copy and paste it to your paper. Then begin your paper. Your paper needs to explain and summarize the main topic of the article. What is the article about? What is the author trying to say about that topic? What is the thesis of the article? What evidence or examples does the author use to help make his or her points? How does the author use this evidence to support his or her argument? After you have fully summarized the article, its main points, and its evidence, you will need to evaluate the article. Do you agree or disagree with the authors position? Why or why not? Does it match up with what you have learned about the topic from your textbook readings? Do you find that the authors evidence and examples are convincing? Why or why not? Does the author use any examples or arguments that you find particularly strong? Does the author use any examples or arguments that you find particular weak or unconvincing?
Your essay must fall into the following parameters: 2-3 pages long (appx. 600-900 words), 12 point font (Times New Roman or Calibri), double-spaced, one-inch margins.
